The First Italian edition of the biennial exhibition of African photography
The Afritudine Cultural Association and Provincia di Milano — Cultural Department have been the promoters of a unique event for the Italian cultural panorama: for the very first time the biennial exhibition of African Photography of Bamako, organised by the Malian Ministry of Culture and AFAA (Association Francaise d’Action Artistique) arrived straight to the center of Milan.
100 works exhibited at the Spazio Oberdan, 18 photographers from 13 African countries (Tunisia, Morocco, Mali, Senegal, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Cameroon, South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, Algeria, Nigeria) represented, 6 women photographers tell to us the African continent from a female point of view.
From portraiture to reportage, from photojournalism to experimental artistic photography, Made in Africa exhibition intends to recognise the artistic value and dignity to the talent and the creativity of African photographers by giving true weight to the authenticity of narration through images that we are given by the photography of an Africa seen from within, from the way it sees itself, through its photographers.
